Why you and your pets are in the best hands.....
Dr. Vicki Souder, DC
Dr. Vicki Souder is a dedicated chiropractor with over 27 years of experience, specializing in chiropractic neurology and animal chiropractic care. A native of Iowa, Dr. Souder’s career journey began in higher education, where she spent more than a decade working in student services at a community college and earned her Master’s degree in College Union Administration. Her early career in administration eventually led her to veterinary school, but her passion for healing took a new path when she realized the emotional toll of end-of-life care for animals.
Pivoting to chiropractic neurology, Dr. Souder graduated from chiropractic school and worked in a clinic in Wisconsin. During this time, she discovered her passion for neurology and began pursuing her diplomate in chiropractic neurology. Shortly after, she opened her own practice in Dubuque, Iowa, where she focused on sports injuries and neurological care. Dr. Souder also collaborated with semi-professional football and hockey teams, taught in athletic training programs at a local college, and mentored student interns in her office.
In 2013, Dr. Souder sold her Iowa-based practice and relocated to Colorado to pursue her lifelong dream of working with animals. She simultaneously launched a mobile dog chiropractic business and Souder Chiropractic, a clinic for both humans and animals. Her expertise in neurology enables her to help patients improve function in conditions such as strokes, spinal cord injuries, vision impairments, and severe chronic pain. She incorporates advanced techniques such as cold laser therapy, which she has been using since 2000, into her treatments.
In addition to her chiropractic career, Dr. Souder contributed to her community as a columnist for the local newspaper. For eight years, she wrote the popular column Ask an Expert, providing insights and advice on health, wellness, and chiropractic care.
A breast cancer survivor since 2008 and a heart attack survivor in 2023, Dr. Souder embodies resilience. An avid CrossFit athlete for over a decade, she continues to compete, lift weights, and maintain a vigorous exercise regimen despite health challenges. Her determination and optimism fuel her dedication to helping others.
Dr. Souder’s love for animals extends beyond her practice. She is passionate about animal rescue and has adopted two dogs from Mile High Weimaraner Rescue while fostering dogs from several rescue organizations. Her dog, Ranger, was her “foster fail” Weimaraner who stole her heart at seven years old and quickly became her heart dog. Following Ranger, she adopted her current dog, Moose, who is the biggest “durp” she’s ever met. Moose, also a rescue from Mile High Weimaraner Rescue, has become an ambassador for her mission, even gracing the 2025 Weimaraner calendar as Mr. January.
When not working, Dr. Souder enjoys reading, cabin adventures, and spending time in nature. She looks forward to annual mountain and lake trips, where she finds relaxation and inspiration.
Looking to the future, Dr. Souder aims to expand her services, offering online consultations across states to help more patients and their pets. With a focus on chiropractic neurology and a commitment to making a difference, Dr. Souder continues to inspire and transform lives—both human and animal alike.
